Just
when I thought I couldn’t get enough of British GQ’s covers with the legendary
David Beckham, Vanity Fair released its annual #HollywoodIssue with some of the
screen’s leading women.
The
March cover which features the likes of Jane Fonda, Viola Davies, Cate
Blanchett, Lupita Nyong’O, Brie Larson, Helen Miren, Diane Keaton, Gugu
Mbatha-Raw, Alicia Vikander, Saoirse Ronan, Rachel Weiz and Charlotte Rampling
was brilliantly photographed by Annie Leibovitz.
The
shoot had 10 top notch stylists on set, with the lead being Jessica Diehl who
is Vanity Fair’s fashion and style director, a popular face on the front row
and fashion influencer most popular for her Caitlyn Jenner cover.
This
cover direction is certainly not new in the print business, as it is a style
often used by Vanity Fair and even our own Mania Magazine’s AMVCA issue (Africa
Magic Viewers Choice Awards), but what stands out in this spread is the choice
of colours and the varying textures of garments.
