Ghanaian actor turned politician John Dumelo says he is receiving death threats, speaks on drama with Ghanaian Presidential candidate Nana Addo

Ghanaian actor turned politician John Dumelo recently stirred up a lot of controversy on social media after he tweeted that presidential candidate Nana Akufo Addo will never win the 2016 elections.

The 32-year-old actor was criticized for endorsing present President John Dramani Mahama, after shaming his administration for incompetence. John was accused of being a snitch and lacking credibility after an evidential photo that showed him meeting with Mahama’s opponent Nana Addo was made public. According to reports, John had promised to support Addo’s campaign in the upcoming elections. However, John denied the claims.

Now the actor is revealing that his life is being threatened.  During an interview with Kasapa FM, Dumelo stated that he has been receiving life-threatening messages since his declaration on Twitter.

“I keep on receiving threatening messages from anonymous persons. They are threatening my life…so many things for making a statement. But I give everything to God. They are issuing the threats on social media, anonymous phone calls and things. ” he stated

He added that he still feels safe for now and hasn’t reported to the Police yet: ”I think it has not gotten to the point of reporting to the security yet. I am a very security conscious person. Wherever I go I just have this security thing around me. I just don’t stay at a particular place at a time”

He also stated that he has a very security conscious mind, so he believes he will be fine for the time being.
