MANCHESTER UNITED have dismissed claims that Zinedine Zidane has been approached by the club as ‘nonsense’.

Zinedine ZidaneJose Mourinho is under mounting pressure at Old Trafford over feuds with certain players and his team’s poor performances, as well as disappointing results. The Red Devils today suffered their third defeat in seven Premier League games this season.Manuel Pellegrini’s improving West Ham won 3-1 at the London Stadium

And it leaves United nine points behind reigning champions Manchester City and title rivals Liverpool already.
Ex-Real Madrid boss Zidane is out of work and is said to be keen on the United job if Mourinho were to vacate the position.

The club have stood by the Portuguese amid the ongoing difficulties on and off the pitch, though.

And The Telegraph say the latest claims on Zidane being approached have been quashed by senior sources at United.

Pressure is intensifying on Mourinho but there has been no move for free agent Zidane.
Reports have suggested the Frenchman is learning English.

United, though, have rubbished claims they are chasing Zidane to become their next manager.

Ed Woodward is desperate to avoid another managerial casualty this season, The Telegraph add.

The Red Devils are desperate for some stability at the top level once again, having let go David Moyes and Louis van Gaal since Sir Alex Ferguson’s 2013 retirement.
