Wizkid makes Fader Magazine’s list of ’12 Innovative Humans With The Coolest Sounds’

2015 was a great year for Wizkid, and 2016 is looking good for him as well. US magazine FADER has just published a list of 12 innovative singers who have what they described as ‘the coolest’ sounds, and Nigeria’s Star Boy made the fifth position.

“Wizkid is already famous in his native Nigeria, but thanks to a couple clutch co-signs and Ojuelegba —his 2015-defining smash, named for a heaving Lagos suburb—he’s getting a global embrace,” the magazine said in its statement.

Last year, ‘Ojuelegba’ gained global recognition after Canadian rapper Drake dropped a surprise remix on his OVO Sound radio, and weeks later, Wizkid got profiled in the GEN F segment of Fader magazine. In December, ‘Ojuelegba’ was named the 12th biggest song of the year.

Wizkid really is getting all the global recognition he deserves.
